Family historians spend years researching their ancestry, yet often fail to write about their findings. This workshop will give attendees that “push” to start and offer suggestions for writing their family’s story. Included will be suggestions for organizing research to facilitate writing, different ways to structure a family history, hints on effective writing, ideas for focusing your writing to increase reader interest, and suggestions on publishing the final product. Be sure to bring either a laptop or notebook and pen for some short writing exercises.
A special treat in association with the session will be a sale of used genealogical and historical books hosted by MoSGA. Browse the books during breaks in the workshop or stay afterward to find those books you might have been seeking!
